Aadi Amavasai is the new moon day in Aadi month, dedicated to performing rituals for departed ancestors (Pitru Tharpanam). It is one of the most important days for ancestor worship.

Significance

A sacred day to honor and seek blessings from departed ancestors. Performing tharpanam on this day is believed to bring peace to ancestors and prosperity to the family.
