Aadi Pooram celebrates the birth of Goddess Andal (Kodhai), the only female Alwar saint. Grand celebrations are held at Srivilliputhur, her birthplace.

Significance

Commemorates the divine appearance of Andal, who is considered an incarnation of Bhooma Devi. She is famous for her devotional poetry Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi.
