Story behind this kural
In a small village nestled beside a whispering river, lived two brothers, Arun and Bala. Arun toiled endlessly, his days filled with backbreaking labor. He owned nothing but his small plot of land, constantly battling drought and pests. Each season brought new worries: a sick child, a broken cart, a missed harvest. Every hardship felt like a mountain he could not climb. Bala, however, was a prosperous merchant. His storehouse overflowed with grain and goods. When Arun’s well dried up, Bala provided water. When Arun’s roof collapsed, Bala offered shelter. When Arun's children needed medicine, Bala paid the healer. Arun, watching his brother’s generosity, finally understood. He realized that while his own life was a constant struggle, Bala seemed to glide through the world. The absence of wealth meant the constant presence of sorrow, while the presence of wealth eased countless burdens, allowing for a life of greater ease.
