பொருள்தீர்ந்த பொச்சாந்தும் சொல்லார்
மருள்தீர்ந்த மாசறு காட்சி யவர்
Poruḷtīrnta poccāntum collār
Maruḷtīrnta māsaṟu kāṭci yavar
English translation
Those of spotless, clear vision, free from delusion, will never speak meaningless words even forgetfully.

Story behind this kural
In a quiet village nestled beside a whispering river, lived two farmers, Arun and Bala. Arun was known for his booming laughter and endless chatter, often filling the marketplace with tales, some true, some not. Bala, however, was a man of few words. He’d observe the world with keen eyes, offering advice only when truly needed. One day, a terrible storm threatened to flood the village. Arun, caught in the excitement, ran through the streets, shouting warnings about mythical sea serpents and impending doom, causing panic. Bala, meanwhile, calmly organized the villagers, securing homes and livestock. When the storm passed, leaving behind only wet streets, the villagers looked to Arun with disappointment. His words, meant to help, had only caused distress. They then turned to Bala, whose quiet actions had saved them. Arun, humbled, helped clear the debris, learning a valuable lesson about the weight of words.
