Story behind this kural

In a small village nestled beside a vast desert, lived a wealthy merchant named Arul. He owned vast lands and granaries overflowing with grain. Yet, Arul was known for his stinginess. He built high walls around his property, guarding his wealth jealously. One year, a terrible drought struck. The crops withered, and the villagers faced starvation. Beggars lined the road to Arul’s gates, pleading for food. Arul turned a deaf ear, fearing he would lose his wealth. Among the villagers was a humble farmer named Kumar. Though his own stores were meager, he shared what little he had. He gave grains to the hungry, and helped those who couldn't work. When the rains finally returned, Kumar’s fields yielded a bountiful harvest. His granary was fuller than ever. Meanwhile, Arul's wealth dwindled. Thieves, knowing his selfish nature, preyed on his guarded stores. Arul, despite his riches, found himself alone, while Kumar was surrounded by friends, family, and prosperity.
