In a bustling village nestled beside a whispering river, lived a farmer named Arul. He awoke each dawn with grand designs. He would expand his rice paddies, acquire more oxen, and build a grand house overlooking his fields. He spent his days meticulously planning, calculating profits, and envisioning a prosperous future. One day, a traveling sage arrived, his face etched with the wisdom of the ages. He watched Arul’s flurry of activity with a knowing smile. "What are you preparing for, friend?" he inquired. Arul, beaming with pride, detailed his ambitious plans. The sage nodded, then asked, "And what if the river floods tonight, or the sun refuses to rise tomorrow?" Arul scoffed, dismissing the sage's concerns. But that very night, a storm raged. The river swelled, swallowing Arul's fields. His dreams, so carefully crafted, were washed away by the relentless current. The next morning, the sun did rise, but Arul's world was irrevocably changed.
