நிலத்தில் கிடந்தமை கால்காட்டும்
காட்டும் குலத்தில் பிறந்தார்வாய்ச் சொல்
Nilattil kiṭantamai kālkāṭṭum
Kāṭṭum kulattil piṟantārvāyc col
English translation
As a plant's stalk reveals the soil's nature, the speech of the noble-born reveals their lineage.

They realized something about true nobility that day.
