அன்பொரீஇத் தற்செற்று அறநோக்காது ஈட்டிய
ஒண்பொருள் கொள்வார் பிறர்
Aṉporīit taṟceṟṟu aṟanōkkātu īṭṭiya
Oṇporuḷ koḷvār piṟar
English translation
The bright wealth accumulated without love, self-care, or virtue will be enjoyed by others.

Explanation
Those who abandon love (அன்பு), neglect themselves (தற்செற்று), and ignore righteousness (அறம்) to hoard wealth will never enjoy it. Others - heirs, thieves, or the state - will take it all.
விளக்கம்
அன்பை விட்டு, தன்னை வருத்தி, அறம் பாராமல் சேர்த்த செல்வம் நிலைக்காது. அது பிறருக்கே போய்ச் சேரும். "நன்றியில் செல்வம்" அதிகாரத்தில், அறமில்லா செல்வம் பயனற்றது என்பதே கருத்து.

Story behind this kural

His gold brought no warmth, no comfort, only the fleeting satisfaction of acquisition, now enjoyed by others.
