குறித்தது கூறாமைக் கொள்வாரோ
டேனை உறுப்போர் அனையரால் வேறு
Kuṟittatu kūṟāmaik koḷvārō
Ṭēṉai uṟuppōr aṉaiyarāl vēṟu
English translation
Those who grasp intentions without being told and ordinary people are as different as eyes are from other organs.

A powerful comparison: those who perceive unspoken intentions (குறித்தது கூறாமைக் கொள்வார்) differ from ordinary people as the eye differs from other body parts. Eyes are unique; so are mind-readers.

Story behind this kural
In a bustling marketplace, two merchants, Arun and Bala, competed fiercely. Arun was known for his shrewdness, always driving a hard bargain. Bala, however, possessed a different gift. One day, a wealthy farmer approached Arun's stall, eyeing a sack of rice. Arun, sensing the farmer's need, inflated the price. The farmer, though displeased, began to haggle. Across the way, Bala observed the interaction. He noticed the farmer's worn clothes and the tired lines etched on his face. Without a word, Bala beckoned the farmer to his stall. He presented the same sack of rice, offering it at a fair price. The farmer, relieved, readily agreed. Later, Arun, baffled by the farmer’s choice, confronted Bala. "How did you win that sale?" he asked. Bala simply smiled. "I saw what the farmer truly needed, not just what he said." Arun realized then, some saw with their eyes, while others, like Bala, saw much more.
