Story behind this kural
In a bustling village nestled beside a shimmering river, lived two merchants, Kumar and Bala. Kumar, born to a wealthy family, was known for his fair dealings. He never haggled unfairly, even with the poorest customer, and always treated everyone with respect. If a customer had too little money, he would often gift the goods. Bala, however, was of humbler beginnings. Though now successful, he remembered his struggles and always sought to maximize his profits. He’d loudly berate his workers, and his prices fluctuated wildly, depending on who he was serving. The villagers whispered of his sharp tongue and lack of generosity. One day, a dispute arose. Both merchants claimed ownership of a rare spice shipment. The village elder, a wise woman, listened to both sides. Kumar, though he could have easily claimed the shipment, calmly presented his evidence, offering a fair share to Bala if it turned out to be theirs. Bala, however, shouted and demanded the whole shipment, even when the evidence pointed to Kumar. The elder, after careful consideration, awarded the shipment to Kumar.
