செல்வானென்று அப்பால் நாற்கூற்றே மருந்து

Story behind this kural
In a small village nestled beside a whispering river, lived a woodcutter named Arul. One harsh winter, a terrible sickness swept through the village, leaving many weak. Arul, stricken with fever, lay shivering in his hut. A wise healer, Selvan, arrived and examined him. He prescribed bitter herbs, but Arul refused to take them, believing they tasted foul. His young son, Mani, tried to convince him, but Arul waved him away, grumbling about the healer's tricks. Days passed, and Arul grew weaker. Mani, worried, carefully prepared the herbs and gently coaxed his father to drink. He stayed by Arul's side, offering cool water and tending to his needs. Slowly, Arul began to recover. He saw Selvan again, who smiled and said the herbs, Mani's care, and Arul's own willingness to live had all worked together.
