Listen

Those who show compassion to all living beings create no karma that could harm them. Protection given is protection received.

Story behind this kural
In a small village nestled beside a whispering forest, lived a woodcutter named Arul. He was known for his kindness, always leaving fallen fruit for the forest creatures and mending nests he found. One harsh winter, a fierce storm raged, and the villagers huddled in fear. A great oak, weakened by the wind, threatened to crush Arul's humble home. As the tree groaned, Arul noticed a family of squirrels trapped in its branches. Without hesitation, he risked his own safety, frantically clearing the snow and creating a path for them to escape. Just as the last squirrel darted away, the oak crashed down. Yet, miraculously, Arul's home remained untouched. The falling tree had split perfectly, missing his dwelling by mere inches. The villagers, witnessing this, marveled at the unseen forces that protected the compassionate woodcutter. Arul simply smiled, knowing the true wealth lay not in possessions, but in the kindness he shared.
