Explanation
This kural addresses சார்பு (attachment/dependency). By understanding the nature of attachments and living detached, one eliminates the நோய் (disease/suffering) that attachments bring.

Story behind this kural
In a quiet village nestled beside a whispering river, lived two brothers, Arun and Bala. Arun possessed a beautiful plot of land, its soil rich, yielding bountiful harvests. He poured his heart into it, his joy intertwined with the ripening crops. When drought struck, his despair was immense. Bala, however, owned nothing but a simple hut. He admired his brother’s land but never craved it. He spent his days helping others, finding contentment in small acts of kindness. When the drought arrived, Bala, though saddened for Arun, remained serene, helping neighbors find water and sharing what little he had. When the rains returned, Arun’s land flourished again, but the memory of loss lingered. Bala, having nothing to lose, celebrated the rains with genuine joy, his spirit untouched by past misfortune. He understood the changing seasons, the ebb and flow of fortune, and found peace in the present moment, always.
