Story behind this kural
In a bustling village, a wise elder sought a new merchant to manage the town's market. He announced a contest: whoever could increase the village's wealth most honestly in a month would win. Many tried, but only two stood out. One, a shrewd man named Silas, promised riches through risky trades, whispering of vast profits. The other, Elara, spoke of steady growth and fair dealings, emphasizing the village's well-being. Silas, driven by his own gain, cut corners. He hoarded goods, inflating prices, and ignored the needs of others. Elara, however, used her intelligence to find the best deals, showed loyalty to her suppliers, and clearly explained her plans to everyone. She ensured everyone benefited. At the month's end, Silas’s market was briefly overflowing with wealth, yet many villagers were unhappy and struggling. Elara's market, while not as flashy, thrived with contented customers and a steadily growing supply of goods. The elder, observing their actions, made his decision.
