Listen

Explanation

When relatives drift away (தற்றுறந்தார்), do not ignore it. The priority (தலை) is understanding the cause (குறிப்பு) of their dissatisfaction (அமராமை). Diagnosis precedes treatment in relationship repair.

Story behind this kural

In a village nestled beside a whispering river, lived two brothers, Arun and Bala. Once, their lives intertwined like the roots of ancient trees. They shared laughter, harvests, and the burdens of life. But a disagreement over land soured their bond. Arun retreated, his heart hardened, and Bala, feeling betrayed, built a wall around his own. Years passed. Arun, noticing Bala's fields were struggling, sent a young girl with a basket of seed. Bala, though surprised, refused. He sent the girl back with a curt message. Days later, a wise elder of the village, observing Bala’s failing harvest, visited him. He listened, patiently, to Bala's grievances, then to Arun’s. He spoke of the shared history, the love that once existed. He didn't take sides, but simply understood the source of the rift. Slowly, the walls began to crumble. The brothers, guided by the elder’s wisdom, began to heal their fractured bond, and their fields, once barren, began to flourish.
