If one keeps casting dice without stopping, wealth will flee and remain outside.
Listen
Explanation
Persistent gambling (உருளாயம் ஓவாது) causes wealth (பொருளாயம்) to flee (போஒய்) and stay away permanently (புறமே படும்). The more one gambles, the more certain the poverty.

Story behind this kural
In a bustling village square, two farmers, Arun and Bala, often gathered after the harvest. Arun, a diligent worker, invested his earnings wisely, expanding his fields each year. Bala, however, was drawn to the excitement of dice games. At first, he'd win small amounts, enough to fuel his habit. The thrill of the gamble soon consumed him. Day after day, he'd roll the dice, chasing the elusive fortune. Arun would often advise him to stop, to invest the money in seeds or tools. Bala would wave him away, convinced his luck would change. Slowly, his savings dwindled. His fields became neglected, his home in disrepair. He sold his oxen, then his land. Arun, watching his friend's descent, could only shake his head. Eventually, Bala was left with nothing but empty pockets and regret, while Arun’s fields continued to flourish, bearing the fruits of his careful labor.
