Listen
Explanation
Courtesy (பண்பு) is achieved through being accessible (எண்பதம்) to everyone. When you are approachable to all people regardless of their status, you naturally develop and demonstrate true courtesy.

Story behind this kural
In a small village nestled beside a whispering forest, lived a wealthy merchant named Tharan. He possessed a grand home and a heart full of gold, yet he often isolated himself, fearing the touch of the less fortunate. He believed in keeping a distance, convinced that wealth demanded separation. One day, a terrible storm ravaged the village. Homes were destroyed, and crops ruined. The villagers, desperate, sought aid from Tharan, their eyes filled with a shared hardship. But Tharan, hidden within his sturdy walls, hesitated. Then, a young boy, whose family had lost everything, approached Tharan's gate. He wasn't there to beg, but to offer help. He offered to assist in rebuilding the merchant's fence, destroyed by the storm, free of charge. Tharan, surprised by the boy's generosity, opened his gate and accepted. Together, they worked. As the days passed, Tharan found himself among the villagers, lending a hand. He saw their kindness, felt their empathy, and discovered a contentment he never knew. His wealth felt different, now, as he shared it with everyone.
