தென்றல் காற்று வந்தது - மெல்ல தேகம் குளிர்ந்தது பாரு! நன்றாய் வீசுது இங்கே - மண்ணின் நறுமணம் கொண்டு வருது! மலர்களின் வாசனை ஏந்தி - மரங்கள் மடியில் விளையாடும்! இலைகளைத் தொட்டுச் செல்லும் - இனிய இசையாய் ஒலிக்கும் காது! தென்றலே வா இங்கே - என் சிந்தையை மகிழ்விப்பாய்! நன்றே செய்வாய் நாளும் - உன்னை நான் போற்றுவேன் பாடி!
Transliteration
Thendral kaatru vandhadu - mella Thēgam kulirndhadhu paaru! Nandraay veesudhu ingē - mannin Narumanam kondu varudhu! Malargalin vaasanai ēndhi - marangal Madiyil vilaiyaadum! Ilaigalai thottu sellum - iniya Isaiyaay olikkum kaadhu! Thendralē vaa ingē - en Sindhaiyai magizhvippaay! Nandrē seyvaay naalum - unnai Naan pōtruvēn paadi!
English Translation
The breeze has come - gently See how the body feels cool! It blows nicely here - bringing The fragrance of earth! Carrying the scent of flowers - playing In the lap of trees! Touching the leaves as it goes - like sweet Music to the ears! O breeze, come here - make My mind happy! You do good every day - I Will praise you in song!
