Bharathidasan

பாரதிதாசன் (1891–1964) — இயற்பெயர் கனகசுப்புரத்தினம். மகாகவி பாரதியின் மாணவராக இலக்கிய வாழ்க்கையைத் தொடங்கி, பின்னர் சமூகச் சீர்திருத்தம், பகுத்தறிவு, திராவிட இயக்கக் கருத்துக்களை தம் கவிதைகளில் முழக்கமிட்டார். மொழிப் பற்று, சாதி எதிர்ப்பு, தொழிலாளர் பாசம், பெண்ணுரிமை ஆகியன அவரது தொடர்கருப்பொருள்கள். "அழகின் சிரிப்பு", "புரட்சிக் கவி", "குடும்ப விளக்கு" குறிப்பிடத்தக்க படைப்புகள்.

Bharathidasan (1891–1964) — pen name of Kanagasubburathnam — began his literary life as Mahakavi Bharati's disciple, then turned his teacher's patriotism into a revolutionary, rationalist, Dravidian-movement poetics. Love of the Tamil language, opposition to caste, solidarity with labour, and women's rights are his recurring themes. Major works include "Azhagin Sirippu", "Puratchikkavi", and "Kudumba Vilakku". Awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1969 (posthumous).
