நீலக் கடல் அழகு - அதன் நிறமே கண்ணுக்கு இனிமை! காலை ஒளியில் மின்னும் - அலைகள் கரையை வந்து முத்தமிடும்! ஆழம் எவ்வளவு என்று - யாரும் அறிய முடியாது பாரு! வாழும் உயிர்கள் கோடி - அதில் வளரும் பவளமும் முத்தும்! கடலே உனைக் கண்டேன் - என் கண்கள் குளிர்ந்தன இன்று! உடலும் மனமும் சேர்ந்து - உன்னை உவகையாய் பாடுவேன் நன்று!
Transliteration
Neelak kadal azhagu - adhan Niramē kannukku inimai! Kaalai oliyil minnum - alaigal Karaiyai vandhu muththamidum! Aaazham evvalavu endru - yaarum Ariya mudiyaadhu paaru! Vaazhum uyirgal kōdi - adhil Valarum pavalamum muththum! Kadalē unai kandēn - en Kangal kulirndana indru! Udalum manamum sērndhu - unnai Uvagaiyaay paaduvēn nandru!
English Translation
The blue sea is beautiful - its Color is pleasing to the eyes! Sparkling in morning light - waves Come and kiss the shore! How deep it is - no one Can know, see! Millions of creatures live - in it Coral and pearls grow! O sea, I saw you - my Eyes were soothed today! Body and mind together - I Will sing of you joyfully!
