மலையில் பிறந்த ஆறு - ஓடி மைதானம் வந்தது பாரு! கலகல வென்று ஓசை - அதன் கரையில் பூக்கும் பூக்கள்! நீரோட்டம் நின்றதில்லை - அது நிலத்திற்கு வளம் தரும்! பாரோர்க்கு நன்மை செய்யும் - உயிர் பல கோடி வாழ வைக்கும்! ஆற்றின் அருமை அறி - நீ அதை மாசு படுத்தாதே! போற்றி காப்பாய் நாளும் - நீர் பொக்கிஷம் காக்கும் உன் வேலை!
Transliteration
Malaiyil piranda aaru - odi Maidaanam vandhadu paaru! Kalagala vendru ōsai - adhan Karaiyil pookkum pookkal! Neerōttam nindradhillai - adhu Nilatthirku valam tharum! Paarorku nanmai seyyum - uyir Pala kōdi vaazha vaikkum! Aatrin arumai ari - nee Adhai maasu paduthadhē! Pōtri kaappaay naalum - neer Pokkisham kaakkum un vēlai!
English Translation
The river born in the mountain - see How it came running to the plains! Gurgling sounds it makes - flowers Bloom on its banks! The water flow never stops - it Gives fertility to the land! It does good to the world - making Millions of lives survive! Know the value of the river - don't Pollute it! Protect and preserve it daily - guarding Water treasure is your job!
