ஓர்த்துள்ளம் உள்ளது உணரின்
ஒருதலையாப் பேர்த்துள்ள வேண்டா பிறப்பு
Ōrttuḷḷam uḷḷatu uṇariṉ
Orutalaiyāp pērttuḷḷa vēṇṭā piṟappu
English translation
If one meditates and realizes the truth within, there is certainly no need to worry about rebirth.

Explanation
Through inner contemplation (ஓர்த்து), when the mind (உள்ளம்) perceives what truly exists (உள்ளது), rebirth becomes impossible. Self-realization guarantees liberation.

உள்ளதை ஆழ்ந்து சிந்தித்து உணர்ந்தால், மறுபிறவி இல்லை. மெய்யுணர்தல் அதிகாரத்தில், உண்மை அறிவால் பிறப்பற்ற நிலை கிட்டும் என்பது பொருள். ஆத்மாவை உணர்ந்தால் விடுதலை நிச்சயம்.

Story behind this kural
In a quiet village nestled beside a whispering forest, lived an old potter named Kumar. He was known for his beautiful clay pots, but even more for his peaceful demeanor. Kumar spent hours each day in quiet contemplation, observing the world and his own thoughts. One day, a young merchant, burdened by worries of wealth and status, visited Kumar. "Master," he sighed, "I fear the future. I fear death and what comes after." Kumar smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He pointed to a newly crafted pot. "This pot, when broken, returns to the earth. Its form disappears, but the clay remains, ready for a new purpose." The merchant pondered this. He then noticed Kumar's face, radiant with a serene light. He realized Kumar did not worry about the future. He seemed to have found a deep, abiding peace. The merchant, filled with a newfound understanding, returned to his life, no longer gripped by fear.
