A king free from laziness will obtain all the world that was measured by the feet of Lord Vishnu.
Listen
Explanation
The chapter concludes with a grand promise. Reference is made to Vamana Avatar, where Vishnu measured the universe with his feet (அடியளந்தான்). A diligent king (மடியிலா மன்னவன்) can achieve such cosmic success. The word தாஅய means "that which spread" - the entire expanse of the universe is within reach of the industrious ruler.

Story behind this kural
In a small village nestled beside a lush forest lived two farmers, Arun and Bala. Arun was known for his tireless work ethic. He rose with the sun, tilled his fields diligently, and never shirked a task. His harvest was always bountiful, and his home was filled with plenty. Bala, on the other hand, was fond of lounging. He’d often delay his work, preferring to nap under the shade of the mango tree. When the rains came, his fields remained unprepared. His harvest was meager, and his family often went hungry. One year, a terrible drought struck the land. Arun, having prepared his land meticulously, was able to irrigate his crops, and they thrived. Bala, however, found his cracked earth yielded nothing. He watched, disheartened, as Arun’s granaries overflowed, while his own remained empty. He learned a hard lesson that year, as he saw the rewards of dedication.
