Explanation
Some worthy goals require suffering (துன்பம்) to achieve. With துணிவு (courage/determination), pursue actions that bring eventual இன்பம் (happiness). Short-term pain for long-term gain.

Story behind this kural
The old farmer, Elan, surveyed his parched field. The rains had failed for two seasons, and his neighbors whispered of abandoning their farms. Elan knew that if he did nothing, starvation loomed. He decided to dig a deep well, a task that demanded relentless labor. Days turned into weeks. The sun beat down mercilessly as he chipped away at the stubborn earth. His hands bled, his back ached, and doubt gnawed at his spirit. Other villagers scoffed, calling his efforts foolish. Yet, Elan persevered, fueled by the image of his children eating. Finally, after months of toil, a gush of cool water erupted from the depths. Elan’s field, and those of his neighbors who had stayed, flourished. The once barren land bloomed with life, a testament to his unwavering resolve. He shared his water, and the village prospered. The laughter of children filled the air once more.
