Explanation
All suffering (இன்னாத எல்லாம்) arises from enmity (இகலான் ஆம்). The proud joy (செருக்கு) of true prosperity (நன்னயம்) comes from joyfulness (நகலான் ஆம்). Hatred breeds misery; happiness breeds success.

Story behind this kural
In a small village nestled beside a whispering forest, lived two farmers, Arun and Bala. Arun, known for his harsh words and envious heart, always found fault with Bala’s bountiful harvest. He’d grumble about Bala’s good fortune, spreading rumors and seeking ways to undermine his neighbor. Bala, however, met Arun’s bitterness with a cheerful smile and generosity. He shared his surplus, offered help when needed, and spoke kindly, even when Arun was unkind. As years passed, Arun’s fields remained barren. His resentment consumed him, and his crops withered. He spent his days consumed with anger, pushing away potential helpers. Bala's farm, meanwhile, flourished. His fields overflowed with grain, his home buzzed with laughter, and he was respected throughout the village. Arun, watching Bala’s continued prosperity, realized his bitterness had only brought him hardship.
